Date : 2024-09-03

Seoul, South Korea – February 18, 2024 – The National Police Agency has announced the deployment of a groundbreaking portable identification system, powered by iMD’s advanced MatriXcan technology. This innovative system is designed to quickly and accurately identify individuals requiring urgent assistance, such as those suffering from dementia or intoxication. By significantly reducing identification time, this system enhances both administrative efficiency and public safety.
With tens of thousands of annual cases involving missing individuals—many of whom are vulnerable due to conditions like dementia or intoxication—prompt identification is critical. The new portable system, leveraging MatriXcan’s cutting-edge fingerprint verification capabilities, is expected to revolutionize the response time for such cases, reducing the verification process from 30 minutes to just 5 minutes.
This rapid identification is particularly vital for high-priority cases. Individuals with dementia often have underlying health conditions, while intoxicated persons may face environmental dangers. The swift operation of the MatriXcan-powered system ensures these individuals receive timely care and can be reunited with their guardians or medical personnel quickly.
According to the latest police data, as of June 2023, there were 8,440 reported cases of missing individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, or developmental disorders, 14,667 cases involving those with dementia, and a staggering 396,282 cases of missing intoxicated individuals. The deployment of this advanced system marks a significant step forward in managing such cases more effectively, demonstrating the unparalleled capabilities of MatriXcan technology.
