The 28th Taiwan SMEs innovation award ceremony has welcomed the grand opening in NTUH International Convention Center on December 22nd, 2021. The Vice Minister of Ministry of Economic Affairs, Mr. Chuan-Neng Lin is also invited to be the presenter and given the award to all these outstanding industry bellwethers.
To encourage those industry goal runners, the government has held the competition under the different business scope covering from IoT, electronics, machinery, automatic, materials, biotech etc. Among 122 pieces competitors in this year, iMD’s glass-based fingerprint sensing module has received the 28th Taiwan SMEs innovation award in 2021 after the other 29ieces contest in the final round.
Since 1993, Taiwan SMEs Innovation Award has been working on advancing the technology industry in Taiwan, moreover, it has collected 4,421 pieces application since its establishment. Among those, the total of 962 pieces have been selected and released to the market widely. In other words, it is approximately 20% to be awarded among the applications. Meanwhile, it is not hard to tell that Taiwan is putting tons of effort into the SMEs market and solid-grounded market strategy for better development.
iMD has been working on the fingerprint sensor solution since the establishment. And fortunately, iMD’s fingerprint storage device has fought its way out in the 22nd Taiwan SMEs Innovation Award.
However, to better market coverage, iMD is walking on the path of full-size fingerprint sensor solution and at the same time, heterogeneous materials integration has also been applied in the product line, glass-based fingerprint sensor module whose image resolution can be up to 508 dpi. Moreover, it also equips with three main strengths, large size, lightweight, and low cost which can be foreseeable to fulfill the future expectation at lower cost and non-flat sensor requirements.
iMD has great capability of IC design and fingerprint identification development, meanwhile focusing on the niche market of the large-area fingerprint identification Moreover, FAP 10, FAP 20 and FAP30 to FAP60 are altogether in the progress of the mass production in which can provide the full-time coverage to the market need. Meanwhile, above all are certificated by PIV, which can fit those have the high security demand industry such as IoT, contactless payment, government organizations, and MIL-STD.
Aside from the FAP 10, award winner, has gradually had the purchase order from around the world. Meanwhile, iMD’s FAP 20 has stepped in the market. Since FAP 20 requires higher entry barrier and cost, there are little manufacturers can fulfill the market need. That’s also the reason why iMD’s solutions can surpass other market competitors.
As a pioneer in IC design industry, iMD is going to welcome the 10th birthday since 2011. With the whole team’s effort, iMD is luckily having the recognition of SMEs innovation award. To walk further, iMD will keep holding up the head high and create much more possibility for the fingerprint sensor industry.
